Tim Courtyn
Born in Mariakerke, Belgium as the son of Tom and Veronique and big brother of Ine. After learning guitar at the age of 14, I quickly got hooked and traded my Latin vocabulary books for staff paper and spent the rest of my high school career working towards going to the conservatory. Which I eventually did, starting out with my Bachelor in the Arts at School of Arts Ghent. After being exposed to such a wide array of musical possibilities, I started gravitating towards the more experimental side of classical music. I chased my love for the weird and the wonderful all the way to another school as I went to the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp to study under Nico Couck. A great choice, as I truly flourished under his guidance and graduated (in 2020) a more complete human and artist. Sounds kind of sappy but it's true.

Since then I have found a way to use my musical passion and artistic drive for more than just performing and have branched out into creating and engineering music. Both are a great fit for me, as I have always been eager to involve and be involved in other artistic disciplines. As a result of my entrepreneurial spirit (big word, I know), I have decided to start my own music label. More than just a way to release my music and that of befriended artists' music, Guess Again Records is supposed to be a platform to cultivate community and deep listening and is for me the great connector. That is for my artistic personality and different project as well as the role that I would like it to play in the musical community.
